What is RoL in Queensland planning?

RoL stands for Reconfiguration of a Lot — the Queensland planning term for subdivision (and boundary realignment). It's one of the four DA types under the Planning Act 2016.

RoL stands for Reconfiguration of a Lot — the Queensland Planning Act term for subdivision and any rearrangement of lot boundaries. It's one of the four DA types under the Planning Act 2016, alongside Material Change of Use (MCU), Operational Works (OPW), and Building Works (BW).

You need a RoL when: - Splitting one lot into two or more lots. - Combining two lots into one. - Realigning the boundary between adjoining lots (with both owners' consent).

RoL is Code Assessable if the resulting lots meet the planning scheme's nominated minimum sizes, frontages, and shapes. RoL becomes Impact Assessable when: - You want lots smaller than the nominated minimums (a 'reduced minimum lot size' application). - The lot sits across multiple zones. - Specific overlays trigger impact assessment (heritage, character precinct, designated rural lifestyle).
